You are warmly invited to join Aurora Orchestra for an immersive, participative concert specially created for Bristol’s care home community.
Delivered in partnership with Bristol Beacon and Bristol Care Homes, this joyful, interactive annual event is designed to bring music, connection, and shared experience to residents and staff alike.
As the pioneers of performing a symphony entirely from memory, Aurora Orchestra is known for its absorbing, immersive performances. This performance will be no different: an inspiring revelation for Bristol’s care home community, as Aurora’s musicians play all around the residents, demonstrating how it feels to be part of the orchestra and bringing them closer to the music.
Hear Mozart’s Jupiter Symphony played entirely from memory, as well as some special surprises in the form of memorable favourites linking to the Jupiter Symphony. There will be opportunities to join in the performance in interactive moments.

Seating areas
All Care Home residents will be seated in the Stalls area of Beacon Hall. Friends, family & general public will be seated in the Lower Tier.
There will be some time to mingle in Bridgehouse (our foyer space) with your loved ones before and after the concert.
How to book: Care Homes
Care Home tickets are free to residents of care homes. To request a free ticket, please follow these steps.
Please include any Care Home Staff required to facilitate your care home visit to Bristol Beacon with your form submission. These tickets will be included free of charge and you’ll be seated with the residents.
- Fill out the seating request form. There are a range of seating types available. View seating type information.
- We will confirm your request from 19 May 2026
- E-tickets will be issued ahead of the event (expected by 9 June 2026), along with full event information, including arrival details and the confirmed parking plan
- We will be in touch to coordinate transport and send you access resources for the concert
Seating types for Care Homes
Our Production and Community teams have been working to create a bespoke seating plan for Care Home groups in the Stalls area of the hall, to ensure that we can allow as many residents as possible to attend the concert.
Unfortunately wheelchair and transfer seats have now all been fully allocated.
Available seating types:
- Easy-access seat: this is a seat that has more space around it, or is easy to get to (e.g. front row, end of a row)
- Mobile seat: this is for someone who can get to their seat unassisted
- Staff seat: this is for care home staff, or people supporting residents for the concert

Tickets and seating for Friends, Family, Care Home Staff & Public
Friends and family of residents, any Care Home Staff and everyone else are also welcome to join to watch us for the concert.
Care Home Staff can book for free using the promotional code issued to Bristol Care Homes. Please request the code from your care home. Your tickets will be discounted to £0.00 at the checkout summary stage.
This offer applies to care home staff coming as an individual (ie. not facilitating a care home group). Staff who are required to facilitate a care home attending the concert do not need to purchase a free ticket.
Friends, family and staff will be seated in the Lower Tier in the auditorium. You won’t be able to sit together with the care home residents, but will still experience the same performance, and be able to mingle before and after.
Please note that doors to the venue open 75 minutes before the concert.
Meet Aurora Orchestra
Driven by the belief that orchestral music is for everyone, Aurora Orchestra has established itself as an innovative and boundary-breaking ensemble, creating musical experiences beyond the ordinary. Under its Principal Conductor Nicholas Collon, Aurora Orchestra has grown since its first concert in 2005 into an established name on the UK and international orchestral scene.
Aurora is the pioneer for memorised orchestral performance: it is the first orchestra worldwide to break down physical barriers to music by removing sheet music and stands for large-scale works. Over recent years, these memorised performances have developed into cross-genre dramatic and musical explorations that reach deeper under the skin of the music, devised by Aurora’s Artistic Director Jane Mitchell. Aurora has collaborated with an exceptional range of artists across different artistic disciplines.
Through its award-winning Creative Learning programme Aurora Classroom, Aurora regularly offers workshops and storytelling concerts for families, schools and young people, including children with special educational needs and disabilities. In 2022, Aurora launched a free pioneering online learning platform for schools, which includes teacher training and a wide range of resources to help teachers deliver music activities in the classroom, including bespoke activities for SEND settings.

Location: Beacon Hall is located within Bristol Beacon. Head to Level 1 and follow signs to find the auditorium.

Bicycle
Bicycle racks can be found in front of the main entrance on Trenchard Street, Colston Street, and on the city centre promenade. Find your nearest cycle routes using Cycle Planner.
Car parking
Trenchard Street multi-storey car park is 200m away, directly behind Bristol Beacon.
Bristol Clean Air Zone
Bristol Beacon is inside the Bristol Clean Air Zone. Check if your vehicle will be charged and how much you’ll have to pay.
Bus
Most bus services stop in and around the city centre promenade, 250m from Bristol Beacon.

Mobility
Spaces for wheelchair users are in:
- row S in the centre of the rear Stalls (10 spaces)
- row Z in the left and right wings at the back of Lower Tier (4 spaces, 2 on each side),
- row Z on the right only at the back of Upper Tier (2 spaces)
Assistance Dogs
Assistance dogs and emotional support animals are allowed in the performance space. Seats in row F are most suitable. If you prefer, you can leave your animal with a member of staff during the performance.
Hearing Facility
A Sennheiser MobileConnect assistive listening system is installed in the venue. Download the free App and use your own mobile device and headphones to listen to the performance. (Devices are available on request.)
